Black Swan is a mystery-suspense-thriller movie about the torment of a ballerina named Nina (Natalie Portman).
Nina has toiled for many years to be named the Swan Queen in the ballet Swan Lake, and her obsessive pursuit of playing the parts perfectly makes her ruin her mental stability.
As the line between hallucination and reality is blurred, it might be difficult for the audience to understand which is true.
What possessed her to do that?  It was strongly correlated with her home environment.  Nina's mother is a single mother who sued to be a ballerina.  However, she didn't become a prima donna.
She holds Nina under the obligation to become a successful ballerina.  Nina is her puppet.
As Nina was raised by an overprotective mother, she is immature and easily intimidated.
I think is was big mistake to choose such a pathetically weak person.

Nina is controlled by her mother

The central theme of this movie is the battle between light and darkness.  I think the use of ballet is outstanding as it shows pride and perfection.  Nina finds out that she must give her all in order to attain perfection.
We can't get away with doing something without having to pay for it.



＜あらすじ＞
ニューヨーク・シティ・バレエ団に所属するバレリーナ、ニナ（ナタリー・ポートマン）は、踊りは完ぺきで優等生のような女性。芸術監督のトーマス（ヴァンサン・カッセル）は、花形のベス（ウィノナ・ライダー）を降板させ、新しい振り付けで新シーズンの「白鳥の湖」公演を行うことを決定する。そしてニナが次のプリマ・バレリーナに抜てきされるが、気品あふれる白鳥は心配ないものの、狡猾（こうかつ）で官能的な黒鳥を演じることに不安があり……。

「ブラックスワン」はニナというバレリーナの苦悩を描いたミステリーであり、サスペンスでありスリラー映画です。ニナは長年の間バレエ一筋に打ち込み、ついに白鳥の湖の主役を掴むのですが、完璧に演じようという過度のこだわりで精神的なバランスを崩してしまうというものです。幻覚と現実の境目がはっきりしないので、観客はどっちが現実？と迷ってしまうかもしれません。
何が彼女をそうさせたのでしょう。これは大いに家庭環境にあると言えるでしょう。ニナの母親はシングルマザーでかつてはバレリーナでしたが、主役を演じるほどの実力はなかったのです。彼女はバレリーナとして成功するという重責をニナに押しつけているのです。ニナは完璧に母の言いなりです。過保護な母に育てられたニナは年齢のわりに幼稚でオドオドする女性になってしまいました。もっともこのような精神的に弱い人を抜擢するのもどうかと思いましたが。（たとえ実力があっても）
この映画の主題は人間の心の明と暗なんだと思います。またプライドと完璧さを表現するのにバレエを使ったのにも非常にうまくいっています。ニナは完璧さを成し遂げるため自分の全てを捧げなければならないことを悟るのです。犠牲なくして何かを得ることは出来ないなぁとつくづく思いました。
